WWII Army Air Corps Roundel Souvenir Signet Ring in good condition in a size 8.75 USA. This is a cool souvenir signet ring from WWII which is made from non-sterling silver metal and has what appears to be a brass-like square insert with inlaid enamel and red dot. The ring pays homage to the Roundel of the United States Army Air Corps used from 1926 to 1941. When the Air Corps name was changed to the United States Army Air Force which retained the roundel until 1942 when complaints came that the red dot in the center of the star could be confused by anti-aircraft personnel or other pilots for Japanese aircraft (their roundel was a red circle). The roundel was revised in 1942 with the red dot removed. This is an amazing piece of trench art and makes a great-looking signet ring for the WWII collector.
